Coronavirus (COVID-19): the actions we're taking to keep you safe

With the recent coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we understand that this is a time of worry and uncertainty for everyone.

We are closely following all government advice and doing everything we can to keep you and your loved ones healthy and safe.

Read on to find out what we're doing to protect you - and how we're delivering your item(s) safely.

What we're doing to protect you

We will continue to safely deliver your item(s) as normal, on a day that suits you.

However, to give you greater peace of mind, we have put the following new procedures in place.

1. No-contact delivery, as standard

We provide no-contact delivery, as standard (unless you've asked for two-man delivery to your room).

No-contact delivery means we:

  • Will leave your item(s) at your front door
  • You may need to ensure you have help getting your mattress into your home.
  • Won't enter your property
  • Unless you explicitly requested two-man delivery to your room of choice.
  • Won't ask you to sign any hand-held devices
  • You'll receive a call from our customer service team, so that you can verbally agree to receive your delivery. You can refuse this - but unfortunately, we won't be able to complete the delivery if you do.
  • Will strictly follow all current health and safety guidelines
  • Please read on for more information.

You can change your mind! Even if you asked for delivery to your room previously, we can still leave your item(s) at your door instead - and we'll refund any delivery costs you previously paid for.

2. Two-man delivery to your room, only if you request it

We can still deliver to the room of your choice, if you need it.

Since we need to access your property, this does carry slightly more risk. Our aim is to:

  • Enter and leave your home as quickly as possible
  • Please open all doors necessary and ensure clear access to the room.
  • Ensure absolute minimum contact with any surfaces in your home
  • We will take utmost care not to touch anything in your home unnecessarily.
  • Ensure 100% no-contact with you
  • You can stay in a separate room whilst delivery is taking place.

During delivery to your room, we:

  • Won't ask you to sign any hand-held devices
  • You'll receive a call from our customer service team, so that you can verbally agree to receive your delivery.
  • Will take your mattress to your room and leave it on your bed
  • We can't take away the inner bag, for hygiene reasons.
  • Will strictly follow all current health and safety guidelines

Of course, we have a duty of care to protect our drivers and the general public. Therefore, if you or a member of your family have or have had symptoms consistent with COVID-19, please tell us before your delivery. We can still offer no-contact delivery to your front door, instead.

3. We adhere to the latest health and safety guidelines

For all deliveries, we will:

  • Maintain a safe distance away from you and your family
  • At least 2 metres away, at all times
  • Wear personal protective equipment
  • Including a fresh pair of gloves for every delivery
  • Wash and sanitise our hands
  • Before and after every delivery
  • Remove and take away the outer mattress bag
  • Leaving your mattress in one, clean inner bag for you to unwrap

Don't be afraid to ask our delivery drivers about this. They won't mind - they will expect you to ask them.

4. You can delay or reschedule your delivery date

We understand that you might want to change your delivery date, or wait a little longer to receive your delivery. That's OK!

You can:

  • Choose your delivery day up to 60 days in advance
  • Reschedule your delivery, completely free of charge

What we're doing to protect our staff

We are taking coronavirus very seriously - in order to protect ourselves, and you.

Firstly, we're working round the clock to keep our premises exceptionally clean and thoroughly disinfected at all times.

In addition to this, every member of staff:

  • Washes their hands regularly for a minimum of 20 seconds, with hot soapy water.
  • Applies alcohol-based hand sanitiser
  • Uses gloves whenever handling products
  • Maintains a safe distance of 2 metres apart

We are a small company. No member of the Mattress Online team has symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19). However, as a precaution, every member of staff who can work from home is doing so. Only essential staff remain on our premises.

If any staff member reports symptoms consistent with coronavirus (COVID-19), they are under strict instructions to self-isolate immediately and return only when it is completely safe to do so, according to the latest government advice.
